The Idea

This all started when I was perusing Facebook the other day and came across an article someone wrote in mixed French and English. Even though it's been a few years since I was actively studying French, and even then I didn't get all that far, I was still able to understand 99% of what I read. There were a few words I didn't know, but I could mostly figure it out via context. I wished there was something like that for Italian, but then I got the idea that I could do the same thing in the Italian journal I started 2 years ago and never kept up because I couldn't write about what I really wanted to write about. I couldn't write a basic journal entry about my day or my thoughts without extensively using google translate, so I just stopped. But this new idea, using Italianglish, I could write about what I wanted and insert the words I know in Italian and hopefully more and more of what I write will be in Italian as I progress. I don't have to wait to write until I know all the words I need, and I don't need to cheat and write it all in English and just translate with google's help. I will try to correct my own writings, but I'm nowhere near perfect or fluent so I welcome any help from the outside. :)
